About Us

Tender Stones Studio was developed in 2022 by artists Charlie Ford and Lucy Suggate. Both wanted to create a working environment that brought together their practices in visual art, dance, choreography, and design. The studio itself is a small room in the repurposed Wainsgate Chapel, nestled in the Pennines of Upper Calder Valley. Lucy and Charlie seek solace in everyday acts of support through co-working, skills sharing and testing how they frame and disseminate ideas and work in landscapes that are both bucolic and brutal.
